I can’t set a favorite track, because the whole thing is just cohesive together. It might as well just be a full album track. It’s truly just all vibes in the best way, and the warmth of the live improvisation transports you to the cafe. Just a great album all around.

Foshe and Bentley are two separate entities who regularly collaborate in their home city of Sydney. Foshe create fully improvised polyrhythmic-afro-Latin-synth-ambient-jazz-house. The trio have been gigging heavily from 2018, engaging in energetic weekly residencies, and supporting artists from Lonnie Liston Smith to the 30/70 collective, Horatio Luna and ZFEX, GODTET and more.
Mike Bentley is a drummer who collaborates with friends around Sydney/Melbourne, creating deeply groovy, rhythmically hypnotic journeys through jazz, hip hop and house, inspired by the likes of Kamaal Williams & Vijay Iyer. Producing modern jazz-house combined with odd time signatures, Mike was a key driving force behind this set of new, live recordings.
The ‘Parlour Cucina’ album is the result of a live residency at the Sydney venue of the same name. The residency was split between sets with the regular Foshe trio (Mike, Zigi, Tom) and open collaborations with other artists through Bentley.
Here're some further words written about the recordings and Parlour Cucina venue;
“It’s aperitivo hour in Sydney’s secret deco destination. Candle lit, intimate tables sit by the burnished bar to suit the smart casual and effortlessly elegant. The iconic Parlour Cucina set the scene for a 6 month long Friday night residency. Configurations of Foshe and Bentley launched into two sets of pure improvisation, with an open roster of players switching in and out each week. Just enough space to squeeze a trio between tables, laptop balanced precariously on gig bags, a few sessions were recorded. Transport yourself to the bustling crowd of professionals and travellers winding down with a negroni and an antipasto plate, set to the backdrop of scorching polyrhythmic house jams.”

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob

I normally only listen to electronic music, but after listening to this album months ago I found it kept calling out to me. Now after purchasing it I can see why. I am totally addicted to its beauty and harmony. Thank you so much for the wax version, as it is the only form of music I collect. kaosskid

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
