On Saturdays around midnight, after the main stage finishes up, the smaller ground level stage up the back is where the party kicks on. A tiny jazz kit, beautiful grand piano, and just enough space for a double bass. Dim lighting, everything soaked in red. Moody.

We played for about two hours, with the second set catching onto a bit of cuban heat. The dancers couldn't get enough and unfortunately we just couldn't stop. At one point towards the end we had someone jump up on trumpet. Mad chops. No idea who they were. I remember something about them being in the Navy and were in town a few nights. Might be wrong. Anyway.

I instantly loved the song Holy Lands so much that I had to see if the album version was the same rendition as the live one. Then I listened to the whole album! Universal Beings is a just a groove...
